We are fully egalitarian and encourage each person to participate as much as they wish or are able to. Our services are a mixture of Hebrew & English. We welcome members with all levels of knowledge and experience of Judaism and diverse backgrounds.

We LOVE to sing and our Shlichat Tsibbur (Lay Leader) adds her beautiful voice and her love of Judaism, learning & music to enhance our services.

Happy Tu B'Shevat
Help celebrate the 'Birthday of the Trees' - Tu B'Shevat
Join us at our annual Tu B'Shevat Seder.
Satuday, Jan 27th directly after Services (start at 10 AM)

We have a Seder with 7 types of fruits & grains and use a special Hagadah that reminds us of all the wonderful ways trees enrich our lives and our planet. There will be songs & lite lunch as well

Our Women's Rosh Chodesh Group meetings will resume in April 2018.

The topic for the year is "Jewish History in Countries You Might not Expect to Find Us".
Some of the countries we'll be talking about include India, China, Uganda.
We meet at participants homes and enjoy a pot-luck together. It's been fun & informative. Check back for dates & join us.

Noah Project

Members of KIS have been volunteering at the NOAH Project for 3 years now. We meet at St John's Episcopal Church. 21 Market Street, Johnstown (side entrance). Setup starts around 10 AM and we're done by 2 PM. You can volunteer for any portion of that time.

Thanks to the folks who have been part of this important mitzvah and we welcome new-comers.

Food Pantry Collection

We are continuing to collect food for the Pantry at the Gloversville Senior Center. Please drop off non-perishable food items to the box in our lobby (when the Office is open (M-F: 9 AM-Noon) or before services).
