A Conservative Synagogue Serving the Jewish communities of
Fulton & Montgomery Counties for over 120 Years

Knesseth Israel Small Chapel Knesseth Israel Synagogue is committed to being a spiritual home for our Jewish community, to educating our children to be proud of themselves and their Jewish heritage, to supporting each other in good times and bad, to respecting all people of good will, and to strengthening our bonds with Jews and Jewish causes here, in Israel and around the world.

At left is a picture of our small chapel where we hold our weekly Sabbath services (Friday evening & Saturday morning). We also have a Social Hall where we share fellowship and a snack after services every week; a Library & a Main Chapel that can seat up to 300 people. We invite Jews & Jewish families in the area to learn more about Knesseth Israel and call to arrange a visit..

Shlichat Tsibbur - Suzanne Schermerhorn. Lay leader, Suzanne Schermerhorn brings her love of Judaism and her love of music to our services.

George J. Dorfman Hebrew School

Our mission is to teach Jewish history, religious practices and impart the ability to read hebrew and take part in religious services and prepare our children for their Bar & Bat Mitzvahs. We do this in a warm atmosphere of caring for our children and love for Judaism.

Teacher: Suzanne Schermerhorn - a certified NYS teacher with years of classroom experience brings Jewish learning alive for our students.

Sisterhood Judaica

KIS Sisterhood does not hold regular meetings at this time but women who belong support the synagogue through their membership dues and maintenance of the Judaica Shop. We have lovely Judaica in the shop that can be purchased to add beauty & meaning to your homes or make wonderful hostess & holiday gifts. We also have catalogues.
