Welcome to Knesseth Israel Synagogue, Gloversville, NY

Knesseth Israel Synagogue (KIS) is a Conservative synagogue serving the Jewish population of Fulton & Montgomery Counties and surrounding areas in Upstate New York since 1891. At 120+, we are one of the oldest continuously operating congregations in the Northeast,

We are fully egalitarian and encourage each person to participate as much as they wish or are able to. Our services are a mixture of Hebrew & English. We welcome members of diverse backgrounds and with all levels of knowledge and experience of Judaism.

We invite you to learn more about Knesseth Israel on this website and join us for services. You will be warmly welcomed and you'll see that we also LOVE TO SING.

Women's Rosh Chodesh Study Group & Pot Luck Lunch
Sunday, April 19th at 1 PM

Topic - "Women as Agents of Change"
Film - "A Slim Peace"
American settlers, Palestinians, Israelis & Bedouins meet for a weekly Weight Loss group led by a Palestinian & Israeli dietician from Hadassah Hospital. The documentary is filmed in Jerusalem in Jan/Feb 2006 against the tumultuous political backdrop of Hammas’ landslide victory and Ariel Sharon’s hospitalization. As the world’s cameras focus on a war zone, the film focuses on individual women’s lives. From the initial tension, we see surprising connections develop within the group meetings and we follow the women out into their homes and separate worlds.

Call Ruth to say you're coming. Bring a dish to share.
