We invite you to learn more about Knesseth Israel on this website and join us for services. You will be warmly welcomed and you'll see that we also LOVE TO SING!

Yom Ha'atzmaut- Israeli Independence Day

Yom Ha'atzmaut is celebrated on the 5th day of Iyar (ה' באייר) in the Hebrew calendar, the anniversary of the day David Ben-Gurion publicly read the Israeli Declaration of Independence. The corresponding Gregorian date was 14 May 1948 - this year it falls on April 15th. Before they celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut, Israelis pause for Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day) to remember those who lost their lives in the struggle that led to the establishment of the State of Israel and for all military personnel who were killed while in active duty in Israel's armed forces.
